Quelccaya Trek 2 Days

El glaciar tropical más extenso del mundo se encuentra en Perú, con 5600 metros de altura, con más de 44 km de extensión dentro de la cordillera del Vilcanota, Lugar poco explorado por los aventureros, el cual hoy en día SAQRA’S TREK AUQUI PERU como siempre en busca de nuevos circuitos turísticos pone a su disposición un trekking de 2 días 1 noches a la pared de Quelccaya. Inmensa capa glaciar sobre los 5350 metros de altura, la cual usted podrá disfrutas de esta vista inmensa y paisaje maravilloso.

Día 1: Cusco – Finaya

Salimos de Cusco Rumbo hacia Pitumarca en la ruta tomaremos desayuno en un lugar muy agradable, después continuamos con nuestro recorrido hacia la población rural de Pitumarca, en el cual aremos una pequeña parada para poder ver la pequeña placita y el mercado local de la zona, posteriormente nos iremos a visitar el resto arqueológico de Machupitumarca, 3465 msnm, allí haremos una pequeña parada para tener una explicación acerca del resto arqueológico y la cultura Inka. Posteriormente continuamos con nuestros acenso en bus, disfrutando del paisaje y la montaña más alta dela ciudad del Cusco Ausangate, con 6385 msnm,  hasta el punto más alto JAHUAYCATE 5070 msnm,  posterior mente empezamos hacer un descenso hasta una laguna impresionante, SIBINACOCHA, 4870 msnm, durante el recorrido en esta zona alto andina, podremos disfrutar manadas de llamas, alpacas, y vicuñas salvajes en la cordillera de los andes, para luego llegar a una pequeña población de Finaya. Donde podremos hacer nuestro campamento.

Dia 2: Quelccaya – Cusco

Nos levantaremos a las 3 de la mañana, después de un desayuno, continuaremos nuestro recorrido por una hora más en carro, hasta el inicio de nuestra caminata,

Empezaremos con un pequeño acenso de 30 minutos para luego continuar con una extensa planicie para luego empezar a subir un roquedal, (zona rocosa) y posterior mete ya empezaremos a caminar sobre nieve desde ese punto ya podremos empezar a observar la pared de Quelccaya, aremos un acenso o hasta estar frente a la pared, disfrutaremos de una gran paisaje. Y posterior mente empezaremos con nuestro descenso, hasta el lugar de inicio de la caminata, ahí almorzaremos y tomaremos nuestro carro de retorno hasta la ciudad de Cusco.

  • 1 small nylon reinforced backpack to carry the things you need for the trek (camera, drinks, etc.)
  • 1 large backpack or suitcase to keep the things you don‘t need in your hotel in Cusco until you return from your trek
  • Sleeping bag good for -5°C (which can be rented in Cusco)
  • Small flashlight and extra batteries
  • 1 water bottle (1 liter) or a small plastic throw away bottle
  • Hiking boots
  • Tennis shoes
  • 1 jacket (of nylon with hood and water and wind resistant)
  • 1 Fleece Jacket
  • 1 pair of gloves and hat of wool (they can be bought during your trip).
  • 3 or 4 short sleeved shirts (preferably “dryfit” that don’t retain water).
  • 2 pairs of shorts such as bermudas.
  • Medias: 4 pairs of wool and 4 of fiber (coolmax) for the trek (avoid cotton as these can retain water)
  • 1 sun hat and sunglasses
  • Personal medications and toiletries in small containers
  • Sunscreen for your skin and lips
  • Insect repellant
  • Moisturizer lotion to avoid the drying out of the skin
  • Bathing suit for the thermal baths in Aguas Calientes


  • Heated sleeping mat
  • Sleeping bags which can be rented in the office for $5 per day and good for – 10°C.
  • Professional walking sticks can be rented in the office for $2 per day
  • Energy foods: chocolates, granola bars, dried fruits, etc. (they can be purchased in Cusco.
